Glasriket

On the way back from Gotland, we visited the 'glasriket,' the area in Sweden where glass is still hand blown.

More pictures from the glasriket and all of the pictures from Gotland are now on the Travels page.

I've enjoyed looking at all of your travel photos. Can you tell us about the wildlife in Sweden? Are you likely to see a moose or a bear on a walk in the woods? How common are they? I'm just imagining who else is eating all those blueberries (besides you two)!

I've only run into the giant hares and some kind of deer. Leo saw a wild moose once (right after it was hit by a car). And we saw our first wild hedgehog when we were on Gotland! I was so mad we didn't have a camera with us to get a photo. I hear there are foxes and badgers, but haven't seen any. Not sure about any bears, except for polar bears up north...
