A winter walk through one of our favorite neighborhoods.
To celebrate Fat Tuesday a couple of days ago, some friends taught (or rather re-taught, as we made them last year as well) us how to make semla buns. Cardamom flavored buns filled with almond paste and whipped cream, topped with powdered sugar. Yum!
What is this?
Answer to last week: That is a silicone bag used for cooking. For example, put some broccoli in bag, dunk in boiling water, and when it is ready, just pull it out.
It is times like this I wish I had a digital SLR...
A snowy bike ride to a cozy cafe in the forest for hot chocolate.
A flashback to our summer vacation last year on Gotland.
What is this?
Not many guesses, so here is another picture to help:
Answer to last week: That is a bottle carrier/stool. You stick the tops of a couple of soda bottles into the two round spaces and the handle is basically the part covered by the label. And if you get too tired while carrying them around, just set the bottles on the ground and you have just enough surface area onto which you can plop your butt bones.
The temperature hasn't gotten much above freezing for a few weeks now, but that didn't stop us from packing up a lunch and going for a hike.
This shows two views (and colors) of the same thing. What is it?
Answer to last week: That is a round ice scraper. The red knob is the handle and the clear part scrapes the ice off your car windows. I have no idea if it works better or worse than the traditional flat scrapers.
The clouds disappeared and we had a perfect winter day. Just below freezing & clear blue skies.
