This is how Mr. Maximillian gently instructs us what type of footwear he prefers.
It was time for his bath, but Max had other ideas. It is hard to resist the charm of a boy in his gummistövlar.
We spent the day at the Bronx Zoo with these little monkeys. More photos to come.
For those who wondered how Max did for his first day at daycare, it went pretty well. He cried some and played some in the morning, but had a rougher afternoon because he only took a short nap. Little did he know what was in store for him. That night, he woke up vomiting at 1:30am and didn't stop for 20 HOURS STRAIGHT. He was at the doctor's office by 9am the next morning, the ER by 4pm, and admitted to the hospital by midnight. He was completely lethargic and generally out of it the whole time. Here are some highlights:
Waiting to get his IV fluids:
He dozed on and off as he was being rehydrated:
Finally able to sleep in peace in pediatrics:
By the time he woke up at 9:30am, Max was basically back to his old self, holding down bits of food and fluids, although still very tired. By 4pm you would never know anything had been wrong and we were able to go home:
We still don't know exactly what it was, just some virus that seems to be going around. Now I just hope Max didn't catch the bronchitis of the first kid sharing a room with Max in the ER, or whatever gave the kid who came in next a 104 degree fever for the past 3 days.
We just dropped Max off for his first day at daycare. I'm not sure if it makes me feel better or worse that he didn't shed a tear as he watched us leave.
The day started off sunny and cold, then progressed to sunny and warm.
Mr. Max man likes apple cider donuts.
